Dear artist,
As an artist, you are surely aware how
difficult it is to promote your own work, approach galleries and buyers, and gain the
publicity necessary for success. And there has been no one who could help you
systematically in this area. Until now.
OMMA
Center of Modern Art is a new concept in the art world. We offer many services that really
have not previously existed. Firstly, we function as artists’ agents, undertaking to
promote you and arrange exhibitions for you, using our contacts with galleries all over
the world. Secondly, through our web site, we operate a gallery on the Internet where you
can exhibit your work on a continuous basis, where buyers and galleries can see your work,
constantly updated. And finally we also maintain a physical gallery, recognized as one of
the most beautiful exhibition spaces in Greece, located in the city of Chania, Crete, one
of Greece’s most important art centers.
How
We Work
The Internet
is the fastest-growing market all over the world, and even in the art world is becoming as
important and will perhaps become more important than physical galleries. Our web site is
the central base on which we promote you and your work. Each artist who uses our services
has his or her own page on our web site, where you can exhibit up to 20 works, which can
be changed at any time, together with information about you and your work.
But the OMMA web site is not static – we don’t wait
for people to visit us. We contact galleries, collectors and auction houses aggressively,
urging them to visit our site and proposing specific artists whom we consider would
interest them. Apart from our presence in directories in all categories having to do with
art, collecting, auctions, even antiques (another service of ours), we advertise on many
heavily frequented web sites, offering instant click access. And our contacts are not just
by E-mail – we telephone and visit as well.
How
You Can Join Us
If you are
interested in our services, send us good photographs of your latest work and a bio.
Naturally your work has to be up to our standards.
After consulting with you, we will
create a page for you on our web site, including up to 20 works, for each with description
of technique, dimensions and price. Your page will be constantly renewed with your new
work, and works that are sold will be immediately removed.
The cost for our services is as
follows:
· U.S.$ 10 registration
fee
· U.S.$ 120 6-month
subscription or U.S.$ 200 1-year subscription fee. (Naturally the subscription starts
from the day your page is up and running, and to maintain your page, your subscription has
to be renewed on time.)
· For your works that are
sold through our web site, we charge a 25% commission on the total price.
· For exhibitions arranged
by us, we charge a 10% commission on the total price of all works sold.
· Our services are offered
on a non-exclusive basis; that is, you are free to arrange exhibitions and sell
independently of us. Our commissions are charged only for profits that are made through
us.
· For exhibitions at the
Omma Gallery, further discussion is of course needed.
