Vlastimil Sobota was born in 1953 in Prague. In 1973 he has graduated Secondary School of Graphic Art under the guidance of professor Bohuslav Blažej and in 1989 he finished Fine Art at Vaclav Hollar School at the course of professor Jiří Veškrna. He cooperates with forefront journals, magazines and publishing houses. His work is concentrated into applied art, illustrations, free drawing, painting and graphic - mostly litography. His works are included in Gallery of Modern Art in Ostrov Velkopolsky - Poland, in the International Ex-Libris Centre in Sint-Niklas - Belgium, in the collections of Charles University in Prague - Czech Republic, in the Fund of Book Mark at Memorial of National Literature at Chrudim - Czech Republic and there are plenty of his works in the private collections in Japan, Australia, U.S.A., Canada, Germany, Itally, Russia, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Switzerland and others. Except annually held one man exhibitions in the Czech Republic V. Svoboda has taken placed plenty of shared exhibitions at home and abroad e.g. in Poland, Russia, Rumenia, Spain, Belgium and France. Prizes: 1992 3.place - Drawn Humor and Satira, Slovak Republic 1997 3. place - The Most Beautiful Ex-Libris, Czech Republic 2001 1. place - Commercial Object of the New Millenium - Czech Republic.
