Painter Kristian Cubera was born in 1971 in Russia in an interesting cosmopolitan family, the blood of which was mixed within two generations from Hungarian, Rumanian, Slovak, Russian and German one. From childhood till finishing middle industrial school he lived in Carpatho-Ukraine.
Nothing was more interesting for him than painting. More and more often his mind used to run out to his endless fantasy where he could build sophisticated constructions of unknown galaxies.
In the year 1995 he definitively decided to divert from the former job and to become a painter. He left his home and went to find his self-realization in Prague where he started to produce ceramics at first and later he painted oil portraits for order and copies of old famous pictures.
All this his activity had the only one goal - to get enough good conditions for his fantasy and freedom to create pictures with accuracy of an engineering designer, which are admired mainly by young generation.
His science-fiction illustrations are often published in the sci-fi novels of two main publishing houses - Ivo Železný and Ikarus. K.Cubera also cooperates with several magazines specialized in sci-fi, too.
Kristian Cubera has organized three one man shows in Prague. In spite of the fact they were very successful, he resists a little bit to go to the others. He is afraid that there is only a special group of people interested in science-fiction realismus.
Frankly saying, who of us would not be interested in adventure in Kristian´s pictures? Who of the men wouldn´t want to rescue charming women in unknown worlds and who of the women wouldn´t want to be, at least in a dream, that rescued one?
