Karel Franta has got two hobbies since childhood - illustrations and music. Being only fifteen he has done his first illustrations and he continued to do them during his studies at Prague Academ of Fine Art. Except painting he likes to do them till today. Simultaneously he has been very fond of music which accompanied him all his life even he has finally prefered painting. Before attending Accademy of Fine Art he had finished a graphic school and he became a graphic drawer. It was a good start for being one of the most famous children books illustrator in the Czech Republic. That´s not simple to characterize individuality of Mr. Franta´s art style and expression in illustrations and painting. There are two main items which make uniqueness of his works. Except music which fills his pictures with gentle melody and bright rythm there is also colourful animal world which attracts painter to the endless admiration and loving study. Mr. Franta never deforms the reality because he likes to respect the nature. The modern abbreviation includes maximum of natural recognition loosing nothing of its simplicity, effectiveness and communicativeness.
