BACKGROUND:
Born in the Heart of Chicago, Illinois at St. Anne’s Hospital, Cook County; raised in New Jersey, outside the New York City area. An avid reader, was frequently compared to the character Joe in "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott. Also has been compared to the character Clarisse in Ray Bradbury’s novel "Fahrenheit 451."
Growing up in the suburbs, I was an unabashedly and, without excuse, an athletic tomboy, with spiritual ties to the natural world around me. I learned much about my approach to art by climbing trees, the higher the better (and every so often will attempt to climb one now, even though I can't get more than a few feet up off the ground, literally).
VISION:
Sees artistic expressions embracing the quiet and contemplative side of our hectic world. Creates for her patrons, a one of kind piece of art, with limited editions on her photographic series and/or originals with mixed media.

EDUCATION 1970-1980 She attended the Museum of Fine Arts School (when the admission rate was 3 out of 100 applicants) and the Massachusetts School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts; University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee 1983 Received her baccalaureate from the University of Houston, Texas (even as a single parent, holding down a part-time job).

Lith Printing
The work I have entered here is a completely new tack in my approach to fine art black and white photography. I have used a method of polychrome printing called Lith Printing. This technique brings out the colors present in certain black and white photography papers. The process involves use of Lith Developer and is essentially completely unlike regular silver gelatin halide printing. The exposure of each piece may take up to five minutes under the enlarger. The development of a print has no regard for time, only to a "snatch" completion point when the deep blacks appear. There is a moment of truth present in each piece. If that moment passes, the print is ruined. I find this process a very challenging technique but very satisfying with the end results rendering delicate browns, peach, pink and blue colorings in the print.
Mixed Media Photo Pastels
I begin my photos in black and white, to dim the real world, and artistically apply colorful pastels to express the almost unearthly colors present at some of the scenes I choose. My goal is to make each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art.
